Carranza off air after political endorsements
Less than a month after returning to radio, talk-show host Vicente Carranza is again off the air.
Carranza said he thinks he was asked to stop his show, "Verdades y Chismes" (Truth and Gossip), because of his political leanings. The show aired from 7 to 9 a.m. Monday through Friday on Majic 104.9.
"They didn't like the endorsements I made for Republican candidates and they asked me to come back after the election," Carranza said. "But, I am not going to go back, on the principle that this could happen again if they don't agree with my views. It's not fair to my listeners."
Radio manager Carlos Lopez said the decision to take Carranza's show off the air had nothing to do with politics.
"Our station is about music and his show took a big time block, so we are evaluating our programing and perhaps will bring him back at a later hour for a shorter period of time," Lopez said. "There is no controversy. I consider him a friend and he definitely has a niche in the market, but we are primarily a music station."
The longtime Hispanic activist previously had shows on Magic 93.5 FM, KUNO 1400 AM and KCCT 1150 AM. He had retired in 2006.

Vicente Carranza is an intellectual character who I am proud to call my friend,..... You Gotta Love Him. The ugly remarks come from ignorance and people who will never know happiness or contentment. Pathetic lost souls. We can only pray for them.

Ahhh, he probably didn't want to work anyway. I remember a time when he never worked and lived off of two women.
If he endorsed a Republican he did so only to stir up controversy. This is how this guy operates.
I bet those republican candidates wouldn't want his endorsement. They are probably the ones who called in to complain. lol

He should have stayed completely with his curendero knowledge that would have brought him more peace at night.
And probably more ratings and advertisements instead of always stirring the pot of discontent which feeds nobody except himself.

they did the same thing to roland garza.. if i remember corrrectly.. a couple of elections ago.
primarily music?? not in election time.. listen on election day.. the programming goes out the window as they ride along with a candidate all over the place till the polls close. nothing wrong with that.. they can do whatever they want.. but dont say the station is all about music.. they have several political talk shows on the air..
again.. thats okay.. but if the majic people didnt like the candidates carranza endorsed.. dont say you're all about music...if that were true you wouldnt have given him a show in the first place.. ya'll are tooo funny!

ou-eeeee. You were disgusting in the days of Oak Park Elementary when you would roam the classrooms trying to flirt with the teachers on your way to see "one of your women" who lent you her car because you didn't own a car. Didn't even have a job.
Jealous...are you kidding? You give many of us ou-eeeeee feelings and those aren't a compliment, you pig. You are still disgusting.
Happy Halloween, you goul.

This is one of the most intelliget men I have ever know so do not underestimate him--the fact he is lets say excentric does not take away from the fact he is well in tune to what the real story is in
CC--truth is we are lucky to have him as part of this community.

I am not sorry to hear that Vicente is off the air, in fact I am very happy to hear that he is off the air. I am a loyal listener to the Magic Station. I was on my way to work one morning and at 7:00 am who do I hear on the air? Vicente, and I said to myself "him agin". I am sorry but when I turn my radio on, I expect to hear music and not Vicente. I also don't care for the 1 hour on Saturdays when they have Raul Torres. His show is very very boring. I know this is how the station makes their living and I am alright with that. But there is no loss with Vicente, and maybe Raul Torres being off the air also. Raul Torres has nothing to offer in his show, he is boring. Vicente can vote for anyone he wants but he should have kept it off the air. Carlos Lopez, you get a A+ from me. I think your station, Magic, is awesome, especially the "MIKE CHAVEZ SHOW" from 8:00 am to 12:00 p.m. I listen to Mike Chavez every Saturdaya loyal listener especially those hours. Keep up the good work Carlos.

why cant they just say the truth...if they dont like who he endorses...they have every right to take him off..just dont give a lame exuse..lol

Stop hating on the guy for goodness sake. He is just one that says aloud what many of us are afraid to.
Good luck with your future endeavors, amigo. Stay strong.

this "music" station has several talk shows ..joseph ramirez show, defenzor newspaper guy ( i think he just got canned or he left ), one of the noyolas has a show, and comentarios..that show allows the public to endorse their favorite candidate. so now do you think vicente got canned for what he says or because the station wants to focus on music ?
and their music video channel...has religious and political shows..its all about the bucks...which is totally okay..it's your station you can do whatever you want, .just say the real reason carranza got canned... dont forget to listen on election day ..you may get to hear a song or two..lol

Good for you Carranza, your boss will never admit it. Democrats have no brains. Wait they will all be at the welfare lines once Omama get through with them. The Democrats had to go and get the low lifes to help them for votes or else they never have gotten this far. This Hispanic for McCain/Palin.

Oh, and don't forget the nudist colony in Goliad. I saw a picture of himself with his two women and wondered at the time why the picture was just from just around the shoulders and up. I put it together when they told me they took it in Goliad in some nudist place.. I couldn't believe it...pretty funny now.
I wasn't jealous of that teacher. She and I were good friends and we liked working together. I could never figure out why she was so into him because she was well educated, sweet, sharp etc.
And no, I don't consider myself ugy. I look pretty good.

Albert Einstein and St Augustine did not know how to spell. Jesus Christi did not write. Yet they all change the world. You know how to spell but what have you done beside pointing out misspell words. You might get $1000.00 if you can show just 1/4 of what you have done in comparison to Carranza.

People like you are the dummies of this world.
I have a millionaire brother in law with a Master’s Degree in chemistry who can’t spell doodle.
How high on the economic pole are you?
By the way I can’t spell either without my wife and spell check.
Get something better to do than degrading others.

And I don't need to validate myself in ANY way in comparison to Caranza...he isn't even close to being a factor anywhere but in his own mind and yours..what little there appears to be.

This is probably the reason you bashing Vicente, because you can't get a woman your just jealous and can't handle it.

Who's "Jesus Christi"?
Are you seriously trying to say you're "changing the world"???..try changing that haircut first..maybe then people would start taking you a bit more seriously.
I've heard you on the radio over the years..for one thing, you sound like you've been inhaling helium...that's a high pitched voice you've got there for a grown man.For another, your show was boring..everytime I heard you,you were simply reading something written by someone else, and when you weren't,you spent more time bashing other people than you did trying to inspire people.
Even back then,my thought was that you were wayyy too full of yourself..your comments here only reinforce that opinion.
"change the world??"..dude,you're doing good to change your socks.

Ran for political office too many times, ran out of the radio station booth too many times, too many negatives. As Don Merideth the old time TV football announcer would sing at the end of the game, "The Party's Over".
